Hello Walnut Families!
My name is Robin Acker. I have been teaching at Walnut Springs since 2004! This year, I am thrilled to be the Facilitator of Learning & Innovation. This year will be my sixteenth year at this amazing school, and I look forward to growing more as an educator and sharing my love of learning with all of you. My hope is that students will learn to love literacy, take risks, explore their ideas, and learn new things.
A little about me outside of Walnut…
I grew up in Lubbock, Texas. I graduated from Texas Tech in 2002. I have lived in the Austin area since graduating. I had an awesome opportunity to work as a nanny and travel after college. This experience allowed me to visit many cities around the world, and learn so much about people from all kinds of backgrounds. I came to Dripping Springs in 2004 to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher.
I married my husband in 2011 and we have two little girls. Perry Grace will continue her elementary journey this year in Kindergarten, and Evie will begin her elementary adventure in Pre-K. Being a mommy is my JOY, and I cannot wait to teach MY girls when they visit the Center!! This year my husband will join the DSISD family as a coach and teacher. I'm so happy to have us all together!
I love coffee, Pinterest, turquoise, the outdoors, spending time with friends and family, travel, Texas Tech sports, creating fun things for home and
school, and learning new things!
I look forward to getting to know all of you. I know that this year will be a BLAST!!
